Wath Brow Hornets have had mixed fortunes in County Cup matches for their youth teams.

In the semi-final of the Under-16s competition they beat Cockermouth 28-0 but in the semi-final of the Under-14s they lost 30-14 to Kells.

Centre Evan Sherwen scored a hat-trick of tries against Cockermouth while Conrad Dockwray (2) and Billy-Joe Towers also crossed. Towers landed two conversions.

In the defeat by Kells the Wath Brow tries came from Mally Clark, Alistair Wilson and Guy Hodgson.

Kells won it with tries from man of the match Ashton Hetherington (2), Harry Vaughan (2), Bobbie-Joe Hussey and Rhys Williamson who also kicked three goals.

In the Under-16s final Wath Brow will play Hensingham who got through 24-0 at Millom while in the Under-14s Kells will meet Maryport who were 22-20 winners at Cockermouth.
