A Kendal mum has now been missing for 12 months.
On June 16 2023, Mary Monkman, a mum-of-three, was in her home town then was last seen driving near Loch Doon in Ayrshire later that afternoon.
Despite several appeals – and her husband Geoff spending time in Ayrshire handing out flyers – Mrs Monkman’s friends and family are no nearer finding out what has happened to the popular woman.
Police Scotland said despite extensive searches and enquiries, Mrs Monkman has not yet been traced.
Mrs Monkman, 49, runs Lakeland Artisan with her husband Geoff.
A month after she went missing, he said: “We miss her so much. She was always coming up with new ideas for work and for home, and they usually started with ‘I’ve just been thinking…’. She can always see the potential, she’s always looking to the future.
“I have to hope that Mary is out there reading this, somewhere. Mary, if you see this, just know that we love and miss you terribly. Please let someone, anyone, know that you’re okay.”

She is around 5ft 9in with shoulder length curly hair that had recently been dyed purple.
The last time she was seen, she was wearing a sleeveless floral top and leggings and lightweight shoes.
She had with her a distinctive Deuter Step Out 12 rucksack in mint/petrol.
Police continue to appeal to anyone who has seen Mary since Friday, June 16, or who has any information that may help them find her, to contact 101 with reference number 2348 of 17 June, 2023.
