Barrow have signed the 24-year-old striker Andy Dallas on a season-long loan from Barnsley.
The Glasgow-born Dallas started his career with Rangers and during a three-year stay at Ibrox played four times in Cup competitions.
But while with Rangers he went out on loan to Stenhousemuir (6 games, 3 goals) and also to Morton (12 games, 0 goals) before signing for Cambridge United in 2019 after deciding to try his luck south of the border.
His break really came when he went on loan to Weymouth and scored 12 times in 25 league games after two goals in 23 games for Cambridge.
He moved into the National League with Solihull Moors and in 77 games scored 32 goals, while a brief loan spell at Chesterfield produced six goals in 12 games.
It prompted Barnsley to move in and sign him in 2023 on a three-year deal but he played only four games, with one goal before two more loan spells at Kilmarnock (14 games, 0 goals) and Oldham (14 games, 0 goals).
On his move to Barrow, Dallas told the club website: “From the first conversation I knew that Barrow was where I wanted to enjoy my football for the 2024/25 season.
“I’m just delighted to get my head down and push myself and the club forward. I wanted to come in for the first day of pre-season so I’m glad to have done the move so early.
“I’m the type of forward who likes to play on the shoulder and get in behind. I work hard for the team and I’m obviously hoping to score a lot of goals.”
Head coach Stephen Clemence said: “We’re delighted that Andy has decided to join us as there was a lot of competition for his signature.
“He wants to improve and develop as a player. He has the ability to stretch defences and technically he can finish off with both feet so I’m really looking forward to working with him.”
