A grassroots festival is making a comeback later this year in Eden.
The locally-run Greenside Festival, at the foot of the Howgill Fells in Ravenstonedale, will take place on September 13 and September 14.
Now in its sixth year, organisers promise a spectacular weekend filled with music, engaging activities for children, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Music lovers can look forward to an exciting lineup featuring both local talent and popular bands from across the UK.
Acts already announced for this year include returning band Thieving Magpies, known for putting their own spin on classic rock, rhythm and blues; Eighteen-year-old local pianist and star of Channel 4’s The Piano and ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, Logan Paul Murphy.
New acts for this year including Salford-based The Thingumajigs, who love their audiences to sing along to their feel good blend of pop, funk, folk, reggae, ska, soul and rock. A carefully curated and eclectic mix of performers will ensure a diverse and vibrant musical experience for all attendees. Plenty of other activities and entertainment will also be on offer all weekend.
Children will have plenty to keep them entertained with a variety of activities tailored just for them, including sack races and tug of war tournaments, to magicians, dancers, shadow puppets, storytelling, science experiments, face painting and more!

Magnus Dent, founder of the festival, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to bring back Greenside Festival to our beautiful corner of the countryside.
“This festival is brought together by a very small team that work hard to put on a good weekend for everyone. I can’t tell you how much thought, preparation, effort and hard work goes on behind the scenes but it’s really the festival-goers themselves that create the magical atmosphere that we’ve come to expect, getting involved in the games, dancing, singing and generally being fabulous company.
“We’re really looking forward to hopefully seeing some new faces this year as well as welcoming back returning families. We’re committed to creating a fun and inclusive atmosphere where everyone can come together and make lasting memories.”
Set against the stunning backdrop at Low Greenside Farm Campsite, the festival offers an idyllic setting for a weekend escape, organisers said.
Free camping and locally-produced festival food will also be on offer, as well as cash bar.
Tickets are available now, visit Greenside Festival on Facebook for more information.
