Cumbria were thwarted by the weather again when they hosted Cambridgeshire at Kendal for their second NCCA Championship game.
There was no play on Sunday and Cumbria were denied a victory chance by the rain last week which washed out the final day at Jesmond against Northumberland.
However play started today and Cumbria opted to field, a decision which proved a sound one as the visitors lost half their side for 73.
Sam Sharp caused the problems for Cambridgeshire as he removed four of the first five, all going cheaply After his first 12 overs Sharp, now playing for Kendal after his winter move from Cockermouth, had figures of 4-27.
Ed Moulton had removed opener William Routledge for a duck, having him caught behind by Workington wicket keeper Sam Bates who was making his senior debut.
The experienced Wayne White remained defiant, however, after opening the innings the former Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Lancashire all rounder was on 44 and after 25 overs Cambridgeshire had moved to 78-5.
