
Whitehaven’s former Waverley Hotel is on the market for £280,000.
The 21-bedroom hotel on Tangier Street is Grade II-listed.
It closed as a hotel and was then believed to have been sold to new owners in 2022.
They reached an agreement with Serco and it housed asylum seekers for a time, before being closed in January this year.
The 18th century property is up for auction with SDL Property Auctions on Thursday July 27.
The firm said: “This once thriving business offers masses of potential to become a real hub of the local community as a hotel again or could have a number of uses subject to necessary planning permissions.”
