Workington Town swept to a 30-8 win at Cornwall in League One to revive their play off hopes.
They had slipped to third bottom and out of the play-off places but this was their third win on the spin and puts them right back into contention.
It had been quite an arm-wrestle to start with but Town eventually emerged clear winners with five tries, all converted by Carl Forber. Cornwall responded with two unconverted tries.
Town’s opening try had come on 14 minutes after strong pressure through the forwards ended with Jack Stephenson crashing over near the posts.
Two minutes later Cornwall opened their account when Henry Hadfield fumbled Cameron Brown’s grubber and the full-back, who is the Clough’s leading try scorer, took advantage to pick up and score.
By half-time, however, Town had pulled away to lead 18-4 which was a fair reflection of ow the game had gone.
JJ Key was over for Town after 23 minutes when Cornwall had been penalised and the third try came on 32 minutes when the fleet-footed Zarrin Galea spotted a gap and tore through it for the score.
Ten minutes into the second-half Town increased their lead when they moved the ball well on last tackle and Jake Bradley went in for the try.
Cornwall did reduce the arrears on 55 minutes with their second unconverted try from Callum Abbott but Town had enough to come back and score the final try through Grant Reid who barged over on last tackle.
