Barrow Raiders have announced a £5 ticket incentive for supporters ahead of their next home game against Bradford Bulls next month.
The club, alongside main sponsors Northern Competitions, will be funding discounted admission for the Betfred Championship fixture, with entry also including the Betfred Women’s Super League clash between Barrow Ladies and St Helens earlier in the day on on Sunday August 4, (noon kick-off).
As part of the incentive, juniors can also attend both games for free, with no ticket required to gain entry to the stadium.
After the on-field action, the club have local musician Leon Knight performing a live set for supporters in the MKM Marquee.
Paul Crarey’s Raiders returned to winning ways on home soil during their most recent outing in Cumbria, edging high-flying Sheffield Eagles 8-6 last Sunday.
There are just five regular-season home games remaining, with the campaign coming to a close at the Northern Competitions Stadium against Widnes Vikings on Sunday 29 September.
A club spokesman said: “We appreciate that season ticket holders will not benefit from this deal, but we are actively working on putting a gesture together as a thank you to them.
“Likewise, when we offer reduced admission to our ladies fixtures, we are trying to raise awareness so that sometime soon they will have standalone games with crowds that bring a serious income into the club.”
On the ticket incentive, Barrow Raiders chairman Steve Neale said: “We have been looking at the feasibility of running a ticket offer like this for several weeks. With the support of Northern Competitions, I am delighted that it has come to fruition.
“We are always looking at new ways of getting more people into the ground and producing a better matchday atmosphere.
“I’m sure Bradford will travel in their numbers for this fixture, and I hope that our own supporters can also get behind the squad as we look to climb further up the division rather than looking over our shoulders.
“I’d like to personally thank Ryan from Northern Competitions for his fantastic support with this scheme. We look forward to welcoming supporters new and old through the gates at the beginning of August.”
