Barrow Raiders will be without the services of their dual-registration players from Wigan Warriors this weekend, resulting in a much-changed 21-man squad for the trip to Doncaster.
It will be a real challenge for Paul Crarey’s side as they look to build onlast Sunday’s hard-earned 8-6 Championship win at home to Sheffield Eagles.
Doncaster have been in fine form of late, winning three of their last four league games, while the Raiders have picked up just one league win on the road all season.
To add to Crarey’s problems captain Jarrad Stack is also unavailable, as well as Greg Worthington.
Six new faces are brought into the mix ahead of Sunday: Max Anderson-Moore, Andrew Bulman, Max Clarke, Fin Dutton-Rosconie, Adam Jackson and Ryan Johnston.
Anderson-Moore was playing for Barrow Island in the National Conference last week when his goal-kicking made the difference in a surprise win at Oldham St Annes.
Dutton-Rosconie kicked four goals and scored two tries for Barrow Island A at Craven Park on Wednesday in a 28-10 win over Millom A in the Knockout Cup final.
Bulman, Clarke and Johnston, though, have lots of senior experience in the Championship.
Raiders coach Paul Crarey said: “We have to be confident after that sort of performance against Sheffield, even though we go there missing quite a number of regular players.
“Doncaster are a much improved team from what they’ve been in recent years and have a quality squad so it’s going to be tough, but all away games in the Championship are tough so nothing new there.”
