West Cumbria’s long-distance enthusiasts in the pigeon fraternity will have to wait for the final Channel race of the old bird season.
Forty birds from the Cumbria Combine are with the Scottish National birds at Nort-sur-Erdre still waiting to be released.
They should have gone on Friday but the weather wasn’t good enough at the liberation site and there has been no improvement since then.
Meanwhile the third young bird race of the season has been moved to Sunday with both the Derwent Valley Federation and the West Cumberland Federation set to race from Garstang.
