Fresh from their magnificent Women’s Plate Final victory last week, Workington Town Ladies maintained their quest for the double with a seven try away-day masterclass, writes John Hastings.
They comprehensively overcame Sheffield Eagles A 38-12 at Hallam Sports Park.
Alice Rush scored twice, with Josie Scrimgour, Lauren Bold, Stephanie Ratcliffe, Katie Jackson and Juliet Porter helping themselves to a try each and 5 conversions were delivered from Laura Ivison.
The result takes Workington top of RFL North 2 ahead on points difference from Orrell St James – and by coincidence, they happen to be next up this Sunday as Town return to Bankes Avenue – the scene of their Women’s Plate success.
