
Rescue teams were called out to campers having an argument near a Lake District water.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue were called on Sunday, August 11, at 1.29am to Wast Water by Cumbria Police after a report of concern for a person in the water who was screaming.
Six mountain rescue team members, Cumbria Police, Coastguard, Maritime and Coastguard Agency Rescue 936 and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service were involved with the incident.
One local team member quickly attended followed by NWAS rapid response vehicle and Cumbria Police.
Once on scene, crews quickly established that there was no one currently in the water and at risk.
It appeared that campers on the lake shore had had disagreement – resulting in the disturbance which had escalated.
Once it was established that there was no-one in danger the team was stood down along with the other emergency services.
A Wasdale Mountain Rescue team member said that calls of this nature usually result in several emergency services attending.
