Flood alerts and warnings still in force for Cumbria

Flood alerts are still in place for Cumbria in the aftermath of Storm Lilian.

High winds and heavy rain have battered the county. causing roads to be flooded and trains cancelled.

Drivers are still urged to be careful on the roads.

Here are the flood warnings and flood alerts in place for Cumbria:

Flood warning – flooding is expected

  • Keswick Campsite

Flood alerts – flooding is possible

  • Rivers Brathay, Rothay and Winster
  • Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwentwater

Flood alerts removed

  • Coast at Barrow in Furness
  • Coast from Gretna to Silloth
  • Lower River Eden
  • Rivers Cocker, Marron and Derwent
  • Rivers Esk and Irthing
  • Rivers Kent and Bela
  • Rivers Wampool and Ellen

Transport

Train services appear to have returned to normal service.

Newlands Pass is closed until further notice due to a landslip near Moss Force waterfall.

Events

Keswick Show, due to take place on Monday, has been cancelled.

Workington Comets’ meeting with Plymouth has been postponed.
