Plans for a new 180-space staff car park at Carlisle’s Cumberland Infirmary have been revealed.
The North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the hospital, wants to create the new car park on an area of grassland at the Newtown Road site.
The trust’s application said in recent years, the hospital has seen a new cancer treatment centre created and there is currently an application in progress for a new urgent treatment centre on the site, meaning staff numbers have risen and are likely to continue to increase.
If approved, the new car park would be towards the north west corner of the site, to the west of the helicopter landing pad and near to Coledale Meadows.
