The latest in a series of historic steam-hauled trains to visit Cumbria is set to circle the county.
The Lakelander, which begins in the Midlands before calling at stations in Cheshire and Lancashire, travels north via the West Coast Main Line to Carlisle where it is due to arrive at 12.30pm tomorrow, Saturday August 31.
The service will be steam hauled from Preston by a preserved locomotive chosen from a pool made up of the famous LMS Royal Scot Class, No.46100 Royal Scot, West Country Class, No. 34046 Braunton or Britannia Pacific Class, No 70000 Britannia.
The historic train leaves Carlisle at 3.30pm returning via the coastal route through Workington passing Sellafield and Ravenglass.
Passengers will skirt Morecambe Bay through Grange-over-Sands and cross the Kent viaduct at Arnside before rejoining the main line at Carnforth.
