A popular Lake District comic art festival is set to return for its third year running.
The Lakes International Comic Art Festival will return to Windermere Jetty Museum from Saturday September 28 to Saturday September 29.
It will also host Little LICAF for its third year in a row – a programme of free comic themed workshops and activities for families.
Attendees can enjoy live drawing sessions, comic signings, interviews, presentations, workshops, exhibitions, and book launches from comic artists from across the world.
The festival also features Britain’s first International Comics Rights Market, the Lakeside Comics Marketplace, and the chance to meet some of the biggest names in the comic art world.
The festival takes place at various venues across Bowness-on-Windermere, including the Old Laundry Theatre, Laundrama, and Windermere Jetty Museum.
So far – over 300 young people aged 12 and under along with their families have attended the festival each year.
The event is guided by some of the industry’s top comic artists and as well as free workshops, activities including badge-making, face-painting, cosplaying and more will take place.
Workshops will be led by Marc Jackson and the creative team from Room for Comics and Macc-Pow!

Jackson has created characters and stories for BEANO, Aces Weekly, The Brooklyn Red Hook Star Revue, Tripwire magazine, The Phoenix, and HEY KIDS COMICS!
In these sessions, children will learn to draw in various styles and use their imaginations to create stories with the guidance of experienced artists.
Attendees can also explore a special exhibition celebrating 60 years of Doctor Who comics at the museum.
The exhibit has comics featuring every major Doctor, including the very first Doctor Who strip from 1964. People will also be able to encounter newly designed monsters, and real-life Daleks roaming around the museum.
