A mountain rescue call out ended with no ‘bad blood’ thanks to an Eras Tour bracelet exchange.
Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team were called out at 9pm on Tuesday, September 3, to assist Patterdale rescue team with a search for two walkers who had become lost while descending Grisedale Tarn.
The teams were unable to make phone contact with the walkers and were unable to find their exact location, so a small group was deployed to see if any lights could be seen on the fellside in the Grasmere area.
Rescuers then made their way up Tongue Gill after no lights were spotted and the missing duo were quickly found around one kilometre from the road thanks to light from their torches.

The pair had been out for 12 hours and had faced both tough conditions and darkness – but were in good spirits and were happy to see the rescue teams.
Jackets, water and snacks were provided and the walkers were helped off the hill.
Once the walkers were safely back at the team vehicles, rescue team member Phil brought out a flask of hot Vimto and was given in exchange a Taylor Swift ‘Eras Tour’ bracelet by one of the walkers to give to his daughter.
A spokesman from Langdale Mountain Rescue said: “No confirmation has been made that the bracelet has been passed on to the intended recipient.
“Folks, we now have a Swiftie on the team!
“A friendly reminder that as the nights begin to draw in, please consider packing a torch and some spare batteries, even if you don’t intend on being out late. Remember to be #AdventureSmart.”
