Penrith parkrun was overlooked by a mix of cloud and sun, with 290 runners some new, some regulars and quite a few tourists, a surprising amount from Whitley Bay.
We had two runners from Newcastle who had just got back from Lithuania with some new tops.
This parkrun, there were many things to celebrate, there was a birthday and three landmarks, 50, 100 and 300.
Stephen Kay as the tailwalker completed his 300th parkrun and Joann Titheridge next to him completed her 50th.
Philip Jackson completed his 300th parkrun.

After volunteering at parkrun for many weeks now, I have realised how incredible it is. The volunteers are amazing people who make this great event possible, and the runners are amazing as well.
Getting up at 9am to go on a run is a fantastic achievement and a marvellous thing to do. Especially for those who are older, I see them every week working their way around the course and it just takes my breath away, because I’d never even dream of doing parkrun when I’m older, but maybe now I will.
Something else that amazes me is when I see people running it with prams, just like Andrew Humphries did whilst getting a PB as well!
We look forward to seeing all of you again next Saturday and I hope you all have a good week.
