A Penrith house has had a closure order served on it after concerns were raised by local residents.
Eden Neighbourhood Policing team secured the order at the property in Castlegate, at Carlisle Magistrates Court.
The closure follows a number of report and concerns from local residents relating to public order, violence, drug use, damage and anti-social behaviour issues at the property.
The property has been secured and the closure has been granted for three months. Only the tenant is allowed to be inside the address.
Anyone – other than police, landlords or tenant – found inside the address can be arrested for breach of closure order.
Sergeant Martyn Irving, of Eden NPT, said: “Local officers will continue to work proactively to tackle the issues that matter most to our communities.
“Officers will be working with our partners in the multi-agency Local Focus Hub to make sure the three-month closure is fully enforced.
“We need people to tell us what they’re concerned about and report any incidents to us so that we can take appropriate action and tackle problems that are affecting residents.”
