Drivers are warned that there may be delays on the A6 due to filming on the Cumbrian road.

Our colleagues at Cumbria Road Watch report there will be a film crew on the section between Carlisle and Penrith and drivers should expect a slow-moving vehicle.

Filming is expected to take place today and tomorrow, Friday September 20.

It has not been confirmed what the film crew on are on location for, but Hollywood A-listers Cillian Murphy and Jody Comer have been in Ennerdale over the last few days.

It is believed they are shooting scenes for Oscar winner Danny Boyle’s latest movies – believed to be part of the 28 Days Later franchise. Murphy starred in the original film.

He was seen on a public path in the area – in the same place the final scenes of the franchise’s first film, 28 Days Later, were filmed in 2001.

A house near Bowness Knott – believed to have been featured in the first film – was also seen covered in set dressing including boarded-up fencing and fake foliage.

People saw the film crew leaving the Ennerdale area yesterday and other said they had also spotted crews in Low Hesket.
