It is being reported that Keighley Cougars are not to go through with the appointment of Anthony Murray as their new coach for next season.
Murray, who had done two years in charge at Workington Town, had said his goodbyes after the last game – a play-off defeat at Midlands Hurricanes on Sunday.
But news broke this afternoon that Keighley were to stick with caretaker coach Jake Webster who had steered them to second place in League One behind champions Oldham.
Keighley are favourites to go through to the new play-off game with the third bottom side in the Championship.
Meanwhile Workington Town are close to naming a successor to Murray and that is expected to be named next week.
Former Whitehaven coach Jonty Gorley is being heavily tipped to take the reins at the Fibrus Community Stadium.
