Grimsby Town scored twice in the last ten minutes to spoil Mike Williamson’s first home game as Carlisle manager.
Buoyed by last week’s 2-0 win at Swindon, Williamson’s United went down 3-2 to Grimsby Town after looking as though they were going to follow up with another win.
Lewis Cass levelled in the 81st minute and the Harvey Rodgers headed the winner in the last minute.
It was a hugely disappointing finish for the Blues after Sam Lavelle had headed them in front after 12 minutes, scoring for the second game in a row. He had got up well to a Cameron Harper corner to head home.
During the aerial challenge Grimsby keeper Jake Eastwood was injured and was carried off following the goal.
The Mariners drew level after 24 minutes when Denver Hulme split the Carlisle defence and Lucas Barrington took it on to fire in the equaliser.
Carlisle were quick to regain the lead because three minutes later Archie Davies picked out Dominic Sadi and the on-loan striker found the net from close range.
After the break, it was home keeper Harry Lewis who kept his side in front with a good save to deny Donovan Wilson.
But in their spirited finished Cash levelled on 81 minutes and Rodgers snatched the points for his side with his late header.
