Penrith were beaten 4-0 at Blyth Town as their tough run continued in the Northern League.
They were really undone by a poor first-half in which they gave away two poor goals.
It was better in the second-half but Blyth, third in the table and flying after last season’s, promotion, scored twice in two minutes late on to kill-off any thoughts of a come-back.
After their bright start to the season a raft of absentees, mainly through injuries and suspensions, have seriously affected Penrith’s progress on the table and they have now slipped to 14th.
Liam Wotherspoon gave Blyth the lead after 21 minutes and Adam Johnson doubled the lead ten minutes before the break.
The game was sealed for Blyth by goals from Brandon Slater (76) and Wotherspoon (78).
