A group of West Cumbrian youngsters are set to take part in an international cheerleading competition – but need your help to get there.
Theatre Crazy’s mini kittens – aged seven to nine – won the Blackpool heat of the competition and now have the chance to perform in Florida later this year.
The school, based in Workington, said it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for its youngsters.
The children’s parents have now launched an online fundraiser to help the cheerleaders get to America to take part in the nfinity finals in Orlando in May next year.
It is a collaborative event of 19 domestic and international event producers and merges the celebration of Olympic-styled champions and all-star, competitive, and performance cheerleading, say the organisers.
Theyadded: “These young stars have worked so hard to get here, and we couldn’t be prouder.
“Now, we, the parents of the team are rallying support to help make this dream a reality for our children.
“Travelling as a team to America and participating in the finals comes with a significant cost. To keep this experience affordable for the families, we are reaching out for donations to help cover essential expenses.”
They need to pay for:
- Cheer kits to perform in
- Training gear
- Gym hire in the UK and the USA
- Entry fees
- Travel expenses
The parents said: “No contribution is too small! Your support, no matter the size, will go a long way in helping our Mini Kittens showcase their talent on the international stage. Thank you for helping our little stars get to Florida!”
