Whitehaven again had to settle for a draw after opening up a lead against their West Lancashire League opponents.
After throwing away a three goal lead at Blackpool Wren Rovers in their last game, they couldn’t hold a 2-0 advantage at home to Eagley.
On the plus side that does give Whitehaven a three-match unbeaten run to build on when they go to Rossendale on Saturday.
Whitehaven’s goals both came form set piece plays they have been working on. The first was finished-off by Dan Hill after 10 minutes while the second was an own goal on 29 minutes.
Unfortunately a free-kick for Eagley almost on half-time wasn’t well defended and Marcus Barlow pulled one back.
Whitehaven had chances to increase their lead but were unable to finish and paid the price on 77 minutes when Cole Collins grabbed the Eagley equaliser.
Rossendale, who haven’t lost at home and haven’t won away, are ninth in the table four points better off than Whitehaven but from two games more.
