An arrest has been made after reports that there was a man with a knife in a West Cumbrian community.
Copeland Police said they were called at around 1.40pm yesterday, Tuesday October 8, after reports that a man had threatened a person with a knife in Frizington.
Copeland Police said: “An area search ensued and after a few fences were hopped, the male was located hiding behind some sheds.
“Taser was deployed as a contingency due to the risk of the outstanding knife but thankfully the red dot was enough and he was secured.
“Following arrest, the man was searched as per procedure which resulted in his further arrest for possession of controlled drugs.
“Unfortunately the incident doesn’t end here and the man has been further arrested again in custody for urinating in the police cell causing temporary criminal damage.
“Enquiries are ongoing in relation to this incident but we would like to reassure the public that the knife has been located and seized, the suspect secured and the risk successfully diminished.”
