Work will be carried out this weekend to continue improvements to a road in Frizington.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Cumberland Council said additional work will need to be carried out on Sunday on the A5086 as part of the £1 million upgrade.

From Sunday, October 20, to Monday, October 21, a full road closure will be in place from Church Street to the Frizington Household Waste Recycling Centre.

From Tuesday October 22 to Thursday October 24, two-way traffic lights will be in place at various location on Frizington road, from Church Street to Kenmare Tyres.

On Friday October 25, a night time road closure will be in place from Church Street to Kenmare Tyres. Access for residents will be maintained when safe to do so.

Access to the Frizington recycling centre may be limited from October 18 to October 21 between 7am and 7pm.

While it will remain open, access cannot be guaranteed. As an alternative, people are asked to consider using the centres in Workington and Maryport.

To minimise disruption to school commutes, school buses will have access during peak times from 7.45am to 8.30am and 3pm to 3.45pm.
