Contractors will move into Brampton this weekend to carry out resurfacing work.
It is due to start on Sunday, until Friday October 25, on the A6071.
The work will take place daily from 7am to 6pm, weather permitting.
The A6071 will be closed from The Sands in Brampton, on the Newcastle Road, to the A69 junction for the entire duration.
A clearly marked diversion route will be in place, and all road users are advised to follow the signage and plan their journeys accordingly.
To minimise disruption for local residents and businesses, traffic marshals will be on site to safely escort people through the works when possible. However, short delays may occur depending on ongoing site activities.
Access for emergency services will be maintained throughout the works, as well as waste collections.
During the temporary closure, bus service 685 will not serve Brampton Sands.
Instead, the service will be diverted via Carlisle Road in both directions, before rejoining the A69 following stops at Shoulder of Mutton/Cranstons.
Regular routing is expected to resume with the first service on Monday October 28. Passengers are advised that delays may occur due to the diversion and potential increases in traffic and should contact Stagecoach with any queries.
