Tributes have been paid to the chief executive of Triple A who has died suddenly.

Marc Crank has been unwell recently and died unexpectedly on Tuesday at hospital in Leeds.

Triple A Project is a charity based in Penrith which provides support to over 200 autistic people across Cumbria.

Sheila Gregory, Triple A chair, said: “Marc was an experienced and very capable CEO who joined Triple A in May 2023.

“He came at a difficult time for the organisation. The vast experience and skills Marc brought with him were critical to improving the fortunes of the organisation.

“The charity has blossomed and progressed greatly under his watch.

“Staff, trustees, members, funders and everyone who met Marc were impressed by his skills and passion for the role.

“He was an interesting and charming individual, who was always good natured and compassionate to others. Staff described him as a true gentleman.

“Marc was new to Cumbria – but he took to the area quickly and loved meeting local people and discovering new places.

“Everyone in the Triple A team is saddened by the loss of our much-loved colleague. We offer our good wishes and sincere condolences to Marc’s wife Fiona and his parents.”
