
Cumbrian firms are among those affected by a UK-wide product recall over peanut contamination fears.
The Food Standards Agency has issued the recall for products including mustard because it may be contaminated by peanuts and is not mentioned on the label.
The decision to withdraw the products, supplied by FGS Ingredients Ltd in Leicester, was described as precautionary.
Mr Vikki’s Hot Stuff Chilli Sauce has been affected and the product affected is the 250g jar with batch code 1824 2324 3324 and marked with the best before date of End October 2026 End November 2026 End January 2027.
Also affected are:
- The Westmorland Family’s Summer Sizzler Burger, 600g – any items bought between July and October 2024
- The Westmorland Family’s Summer Sizzler Sausage, 600g – any items bought between July and October 2024
- The Westmorland Family’s Winter Warmer Burger, 600g – any items bought between July and October 2024
- The Westmorland Family’s Winter Warmer Sausage, 600g – any items bought between July and October 2024
Other products include Domino’s BBQ Dip, Fireway garlic and herb sauce dip pot, Fireway BBQ Sauce dip pot, plus seasonings and curry powders by Favourit and Dunnes Stores.
The Food Standards Agency said: “These products are sold under several different brand names at several different retail stores. Point of sale notices will be displayed where the products were sold.
“If you have bought any of the above products and have an allergy to peanuts, do not eat them. Instead return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.”
