West Cumbrian racer Dan Bewley has won an online supporters’ vote for ROWE Motor Oil Premiership Rider of the Season.
The GB and Belle Vue star from Maryport went through the card in both legs of the Aces’ Grand Final win over Leicester, and edged out his team-mate and club captain Brady Kurtz in the poll which took place across Facebook, X and Instagram.
Bewley has had a fine season, winning the British Grand Prix and retaining his title in the British final.
Workington’s Finnish rider Antti Vuolas, brought over by the Comets for his British debut on the team’s return to the Championship, was also a runner-up in another category.
He was just outvoted by Jan Kvech for the Premiership Signing of the Year as the Flying Finn had signed to double up with Belle Vue.
Elsewhere, there were clear wins in two categories as Dan Thompson of Ipswich headed the vote for Rising Star of the Year, with Anders Rowe second, whilst Birmingham’s Tom Brennan was named Most Improved Rider, with Ben Cook as runner-up.
The Signing of the Season category proved to be closely fought and was taken by King’s Lynn newcomer Kvech, just ahead of Belle Vue’s Vuolas.
