For the second game in a row Barrow were denied victory by a stoppage time penalty.
Notts County had salvaged a point at Holker Street on Tuesday and this time it was Bromley who earned a 1-1 draw from the spot.
Omar Sowunmi’s header was adjudged to have been handled and Michael Cheek made no mistake with the penalty.
The award was hotly contested by the Barrow plays and management team, with head coach Stephen Clemence shown a red card for his over-zealous protest.
The draw meant Barrow slipped out of the play-off places and recent results have seen them slide from joint top to ninth.
The Bluebirds had taken the lead after 21 minutes when a cross from Katia Kouyate was flicked home by Ged Garner.
They had a good chance to double that advantage after half an hour but Theo Vassell was way off target when presented with a chance from a corner.
Bromley were more in the contest in the second-half when Barrow keeper Wyll Stanway made a good save to deny Danny Imray and from the corner that followed Louis Dennis headed just wide.
In the closing stages both sides could have scored. For Barrow Kian Spence put in a smart turn and shot which was well saved by Bromley keeper Grant Smith.
Then Cheek had a point-blank shot superbly saved by Stanway. But it was Cheek who had the final word with the controversial penalty successfully dispatched.
