Explore a captivating collection of photographs and artefacts from the Royal Geographical Society and the Mountain Heritage Trust at a free exhibition at Wray, near Ambleside, until November 24.
Other Everests: One Mountain, Many Worlds brings to light the almost forgotten story of the Sherpas who worked on Everest in the 1920s.
Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the exhibition reveals the lives of those who lived and worked there, and the impact of mountain tourism on the area.

Timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the 1924 British Mount Everest expedition, it has been curated by historian Dr Jonathan Westaway, of the University of Central Lancashire, and the National Trust.
Don’t miss this exhibition, now in its final weeks.
Combine your visit with a walk in the glorious grounds at Wray for great fell views and access to the shingle shores of Windermere.
