A West Cumbrian firm has raised over £1,200 for Workington RNLI.
Core, based at Lillyhall, near Workington, organised an event at the town’s Fibrus Community Stadium to raise cash for the RNLI, which it has named as its charity of the year.
It raised £1,226.82 and John McGibbon, managing director, said: “It brought together our colleges, suppliers, and local businesses to support this fantastic charity.
“A huge thank you to everyone for their generosity! This amount will make a significant difference, helping sustain the operations of the Workington lifeboat station as they celebrate their 95th year of saving lives.
“Workington Lifeboat Station holds a special place in our hearts because one of our own employees works for this charity.
“Josh Reid is frequently called upon to search for missing people, rescue those in danger and provide medical care when needed. We’re incredibly proud of Josh and the work he does to help our community.”
