Whitehaven have continued their squad building with the signing of former Wigan and Salford Academy player Ben Fisher.
He had come through the junior systems at Wigan St Jude’s and has also had spells recently playing grade rugby in Australia with Goondiwindi Boars and Forster Tuncurry Hawks.
He has now returned to the UK and will make the step up to the professional game for the 2025 season with Whitehaven.
After completing the signing of the 25-year-old utility back head coach Anthony Murray said: “Ben has been in some good systems in his early career at Wigan and then Salford.
“He has played his community rugby at St Jude’s and for the last two years has been out over in Oz playing a decent standard over there.
“He now wants to try and put all those experience’s together and hopefully establish himself in League One.
“Ben has all the attributes to do well. He can kick goals, has a good kicking game, has the size to be defensively sound and to be a running threat.
“I’m really pleased he is with us and I am looking forward to seeing how he develops.”
