Workington have lost a popular member of their backroom staff who came to the Reds in the summer with manager Mark Fell.
Craig Rutherford is to step away from the game for a while but may return in the future.
In a statement Reds said: “We can confirm that first team coach Craig Rutherford has had to step down from his role due to family and personal reasons away from football. We thank Rudders for his time and effort with Workington and hope to see him again in the future.
“Craig came in during close season and has always been committed and enthusiastic delivering quality training sessions and invaluable match day input.”
Rutherford added: “I would like to thank the board for allowing me the chance to be part of such a fantastic club.
“To the gaffer and staff it’s been an absolute pleasure working with you all. The players are a great group and it’s been a pleasure being on the grass with you, I wish you all nothing but success.”
Reds vice chairman Richard Lewthwaite said: “Rudders is a great coach and a real football person who has brought a lot to the club in his short time with us.
“We are really disappointed to see him leave, however we want to thank him for his efforts and wish him and his family all the very best going forward.”
