Plans to resurface a Carlisle road has had its schedule changed after people raised concerns about the timings.
Cumberland Council announced that it would begin the work on Monday on Kingstown Road between Moorville Drive and Lowry Hill Road.
It initially said work would be carried out between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
But after people said they were concerned it would impact on dropping off and picking up children from school, it said it had adjusted the hours.
Work will now take place from 9am to 3pm, which it said would allow traffic to flow freely for school pick-up hours.
To complete this resurfacing, temporary two-way traffic lights will be installed on Kingstown Road, along with a road closure on Lowry Hill Road.
Access in the area may be disrupted between 9am and 3pm, and some delays are expected. To minimise disruption, all traffic management will be removed outside of those hours.
Vehicle access for residents and businesses will be maintained whenever possible, but the council asked that people discuss specific access needs with on-site staff.
Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists will be fully maintained.
Recycling and waste collections will not be disrupted, and information about bus stop relocations will be posted at current bus stop locations. For any queries regarding bus routes, passengers are encouraged to contact Stagecoach directly.
Cumberland Council reminds the public that businesses remain open as usual throughout the work.
