Rugby Union takes a break this weekend, certainly as far as the senior men’s teams are concerned in their various leagues.
It will give the county’s two leading sides more time to prepare for their keenly-awaited derby a week on Saturday.
Kendal will entertain Penrith at Mint Bridge with the visitors three points and two places better off than their hosts. It’s ninth against seventh in the Regional 1 North West table.
There is a game at Mint Bridge on Saturday when Kendal’s 2nd XV entertain Aldwinians’ 2nds in a NOWIRUL (Baines Plumbing) Division 1 game in which Jonny Watson will have the whistle.
The only other RU game on Saturday, weather permitting, is a friendly in which Windermere will host Wigton 2nds with Matt Duncan the man in the middle.
