
A Co-op in a Lake District village has reopened following a seven-week revamp.
The convenience store, on Broadgate in Grasmere was officially relaunched by Steve Watts MBE after it underwent a programme of improvements to transform the store.
It now has increased back-of-shop storage and enhanced refrigeration to offer more choice and support staff during seasonally busy periods.
Vicky Hull, store manager, said: “It is very exciting to relaunch our store, the whole team is delighted to see such a significant invest in Grasmere – it has a great new look and has been totally transformed, it looks like a brand new store.

“We pride ourselves on being able to deliver the quality, choice, added services and value, which can be enjoyed by everyone.
“We are looking forward to welcoming our members and customers back into their Co-op – we’re here to contribute to local life and conveniently serve and support our community.”
Grasmere Co-op supports 10 local jobs in the area and offers locals parcel collection and return services.
A soft plastic recycle unit is also available in store to allow the community to return soft plastics including crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals and yogurt pots, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches.
