A dispersal order has been put in place for Workington town centre as the town celebrates the switching on of its Christmas lights.
It came into force at 2pm and will expire at 7am tomorrow, Sunday December 1.
Allerdale police said: “This Order will only affect those who intend on causing harassment, alarm or distress to any person in the specified area.

“We want people to enjoy the Workington Christmas light switch on safely, but those who decide to engage in anti-social behaviour will be dispersed from this area for up to 48 hours.
“Failure to leave the area when directed may result in arrest.”
