Keswick Falcons made progress in the Papa Johns Intermediate Cup with a hard-fought 12-0 home win over Halifax Ravens.
After a late pitch change because of standing water at Davidson Park, this was an excellent victory for the Falcons in the third round of this national competition.
Both sets of players earned plaudits for their efforts on a wet, increasingly muddy, and slippery but playable pitch.

The first half was a war of attrition, which Keswick won with aggression, passion and hard work, and tries from Lucy King and Katie Jackson with one conversion from Ruth Barnes.

The second half was more of the same, played almost entirely in the Ravens’ half with the Falcons solid in defence when called on, but there were no more points scored.
