Points mean prizes for West Cumbrian pigeon fanciers

Evans and Abraham had the top loft in Workington Victoria over the 2024 season.

Kevin Evans, who retains the name of his late partner Willie Abraham, is now assisted by John ‘Bob’ Taylor and during the course of the season they picked up 90 points.

They picked up several pieces of silverware at the club’s presentations, including Derwent Valley Federation inland averages and the Susan Nelson Cup for the best performance.

Richard Martindale and George Lawman, who have been top points winners in the club for several years, were second this time with 60 points.

Les Cape presents the Michael Cape Memorial Trophy to Richard Martindale and George Lawman.

Morris and Wayne McLuckie came third with 37 points while the family loft of Jimmy, James and Matthew Varty were fourth and also won the Old Bird and Channel averages.

Other points winners were: Mr and Mrs Walters and son 16, Blacklock and sons 12, Williams and Hadfield 11, Dolan and daughter 5, Wilson and Johnstone 3, M. and L. Cape 1.
