Two PCSOs have joined the Carlisle Neighbourhood Policing Team this month.
PCSO Ryley McDowall will join the team covering City West and PCSO Poppy Christie for City Central.
PCSO Christie has already been out in our communities targeting anti-social behaviour at Hammond’s Pond, speaking to pupils at Currock and Upperby School about firework safety in the run up to bonfire night and attending a careers fair at Newman School.
PCSO McDowall has been out holding police desks in our communities at Morton Manor with PCSO Joanna Gerrard and they spoke to member of the community.
PCSOs support the work of the constabulary by providing a visible and reassuring presence on the streets. They work closely with colleagues and partners in the community to provide an approachable uniformed presence with the aim of addressing crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour, thus improving the quality of life in local communities.
Carlisle Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Andy Leather said “PCSOs Christie and McDowall will join the wider neighbourhood policing team to understand and tackle issues in their areas.
“Both have already been out engaging with our communities and working alongside our partners.
“If you see any of our officers out on patrol, please say hi and speak to them about any issues.”
