St Benedict’s pull out of game

St Benedict’s have had to pull out of tomorrow’s Counties 1 Cumbria game at Hawcoat Park.

That leaves four games scheduled and the prospect of heavy rain and strong winds could affect those.

There are already pitch inspections planned at Creighton and Whitehaven.

Keswick will also be inspecting in National 2 North ahead of the visit of Guisborough.

Meanwhile details of Cumbria Shield and Vase competitions have been announced,

They will take place when the League season ends on April 5.

These competitions will be for those Cumbria League teams who were not involved in the Cumbria Cup.

In anticipation of 12 teams involved, the format will be as follows:

  • April 12 2025 1st round Cumbria Shield comprising eight teams. The top four teams in the Cumbria League on March 30 2025 will receive byes to the 2nd round. The winners of the four first round games go through to the second round and join the four teams which received byes. The four losers drop into the Cumbria Vase.
  • April 19 2025 Easter.
  • April 26 2025 2nd round Cumbria Shield – four games.
  • May 3 2025 Cumbria Shield semi finals Cumbria Vase semi finals.
  • May 10 2025 Cumbria Shield Final & Cumbria Vase Final.
