Carlisle United were told that their game at Newport County had been called off because of concerns for the safety of fans.
In rugby union the Regional 1 North West match is off between Penrith and bottom side Birkenhead Park.
Penrith and the League have been told that Birkenhead Park’s bus company won’t travel in the adverse weather conditions.
