A Lake District inn is due to open next summer after a major revamp.
The Kings Arms in Hawkshead, a 17th century inn, is owned by Jo McGowan.
The listed building has had a ‘significant’ investment to update it throughout and create eight en suite bedrooms.
Jo said: “We’ve always believed that the King’s Arms is more than just a pub – it’s a place where people come to gather and make memories.
“We’ve worked hard to preserve the heritage of the building, while making sure the King’s Arms is a place where modern comforts meet classical charm.”
The pub was run by three generations of the same family for 40 years until its lease was put on the market in 2021.
Jo said the menu will feature local food. Jo added: “We’re working closely with local suppliers to bring the very best of the Lake District to our menu. It’s important to us to support local businesses and we will showcase the best of the likes in our food.”
