A man arrested on suspicion of murder after a death in Workington on Christmas Day faces no further action.
The 38-year-old was arrested after the 33-year-old man was found dead in his Clay Street home at around 5.55pm on December 25 2023.
He was bailed while the police investigation continued.
Earlier this year, police said enquiries to ascertain the exact circumstances of the victim’s death may take some time. They added there were no other individuals relating to the investigation.
This week Cumbria Constabulary said the arrested man has been informed he faced no further action with regards to the 33-year-old man’s death.
Officers cordoned off Workington’s South Watt Street, just beyond the junction with Oxford Street to the junction of North Watt Street, Fisher Street and Falcon Place on Boxing Day as part of the investigation.
