Workington Victoria complete winter series of shows

Workington Victoria completed their winter series of shows with two classes for the all-ticket winners and fancy coloureds.

Two stalwarts from Egremont – David ‘Sugar’ Wilson and John Wilson judged and afterwards the McLuckie brothers, Morris and Wayne were crowned champions with most points throughout the series.

The winner of the fancy coloureds class for Martindale and Lawman.

The all-ticket winners had 25 entries and the result was: 1, 7, Williams and Hadfield; 2, Varty, son and grandson; 3, 5, 6, McLuckie bros; 4, A Hayton; 8, Martindale and Lawman

Fancy Coloureds had 35 entries and the ticket winners were: 1, Martindale and Lawman; 2, 4, Mr and Mrs W Carter and sons; 3, Williams and Hadfield; 5, 8, Evans and Abraham; 6, Dolan and daughter; 7, McLuckie bros.

Winner of the all ticket class for Williams and Hadfield.

Most Points over the show series went to McLuckie Bros with 45.

Workington Victoria will hold a show race on December 28, from Marlborough. Judging 1.30pm in the Union Jack Club.
