Staff at Biffa Carlisle have raised £780 for Hospice at Home Carlisle & North Lakeland.

This donation is part of a reward programme, allowing Biffa teams to contribute to a charity of their choice after achieving key safety goals.

The team met a target of zero lost time incidents over the last reporting period.

James Templeton, depot manager, said: “Biffa Carlisle is delighted to be able to provide some financial support to the Hospice at Home charity.

“This is such a worthy cause and especially at this time of year families are dealing with such difficult situations, the care and support provided from this charity are fantastic. We look forward to being able to continue to assist the charity in any way we can.”

Kylie Palmer, corporate fundraiser, said “We can’t thank James and his team enough for their support. We love the reason behind this reward. Everyone wants to return home safely after work – it’s a place of sanctuary.

“For the Biffa team to achieve that goal and then use their reward to help others spend their time in their sanctuary is truly special. As a charity, we want to give people that choice, and thanks to Biffa’s generosity, we can continue to support that mission.”
