A Whitehaven student has been honoured for her outstanding academic achievements by a leading Cumbrian accountancy firm.

Anezka Feckova, of St Benedict’s Catholic High School, was given Lamont Pridmore’s Business Student of the Year 2024 award.

The award celebrates students who demonstrate exceptional dedication, talent, and understanding of the business world.

Anezka’s hard work and commitment throughout her A-level business studies earned her this prestigious recognition and placed her among the top students at St Benedict’s.

Paul Charlton, head of computer science and business at the school, nominated Anezka.

He said: “Anezka was selected for this award due to her unwavering commitment and dedication to her business course.

“She is extremely hardworking and achieved some incredible examination scores. Anezka produced two high-quality portfolios for her other units of work, resulting in an overall final grade of a Distinction * (A*).

“These portfolios were well-written, well-presented, and demonstrated a clear, well-developed understanding of the business world. Anezka was well-liked by her peers and by the staff who had the pleasure of teaching her.”

Stuart Edgar, managing director of Lamont Pridmore West Cumbria, presented the award to Anezka during the ceremony.

He said: “Anezka is a remarkable student. It is clear that her hard work and passion for learning will lead to great success in the future.

“We are delighted to support students like Anezka who are setting the standard for academic excellence in our community.”

Anezka is now continuing her education at York University, where she is pursuing a degree in law.

Lamont Pridmore remains dedicated to recognising and supporting academic excellence in business education.
